TikTok hype convinced me to splurge on this pricey appliance—and honestly, I get why it went viral. The sleek design immediately drew me in, and once I got it home, I started cleaning everything in sight.

Fast forward three years, and it still works like day one—with proper maintenance, of course. What started as an impulse buy turned into one of the most reliable cleaning tools I own.

What Is the Tineco IPX4 Floor Cleaner?

The Tineco Floor One S3 is a wet-dry vacuum that washes and vacuums your floors at the same time. It uses tap water and a cleaning solution designed for floors. I must admit it does specify using the manufacturer's cleaning solution. I do not like products that do this because they inflate prices, and the floor-cleaning solution is basically something I can get from Dollar Tree. ( In my mind)

It features a rechargeable battery, a self-cleaning mode, and an LED display that detects dirt levels as you clean. For this model, out of the box, I received a replacement roller and filter as well as a brush to help clean all of the parts when you are done cleaning your floor.

My First Impressions: The Honeymoon Phase

Right out of the box, the packaging and design felt premium—it actually made me excited to clean. You know, getting anything brand new just makes you feel so excited to just use it, and that is exactly what this did. Day one, we got it at the Box.

It was not very loud; it could suck up anything and everything on the floor, within reason, of course, and it cleaned my floors. Areas that have smudges are no longer dirty. Putting in clean tap water and pouring out dirty tap water was 100% satisfying, knowing it was doing the job.

The Learning Curve: What I Wish I Knew Before Using It

Vacuum or sweep first to avoid nasty buildup in the dirty water tank area
Emptying the dirty water tank mid-clean is completely normal for larger spaces.
Clean the filter and roller after every use to prevent odors and clogs.
Use the provided brush to clean the dirty water tank and all pieces, then allow them to air dry before assembling everything back together.
Manually wiping the base where the roller spins to collect hair and things that accumulate in that section.
I chose to use Pine-Sol and other floor cleaners in my vacuum, and using the smallest amount helps the machine not make a bunch of foam and Bubbles.

Is the Tineco IPX4 Worth It? The Honest Pros

No need to sweep and mop separately—huge time saver. However, remember what I said earlier: if the tank gets full before you're done, you'll waste time cleaning out that trap before you can continue your floor-cleaning session.
Uses regular tap water and has a cordless, rechargeable design.
Still performs like new after 3 years with proper maintenance.
You can use any floor-cleaning product in your machine. I like to use Pine-Sol. ( two or three drops)

The Real Cons: What Tineco Won't Tell You

Brand-name cleaning solution is pushed heavily, but off-brand works just fine.
Cleaning the dirty water tank can be gross—expect hair, food, and residue.
The upfront cost can feel steep if you're on a tight budget.
The extra time needed to clean the trap if you need to empty the dirty water tank mid-cleaning.
The machine can become a bit loud after long-term use.

Maintenance Hacks: How I've Kept Mine Running for 3+ Years

Run the self-cleaning cycle 2X after each use, and let all parts air-dry completely.
Inspect rollers and filter monthly
Replace rollers and filters every 6–12 months using affordable off-brand options.
Use cold, clean tap water when running a cleaning cycle. (This flushes the system)
Never forget to empty the dirty water tank after the two cleanings.
