I thought this product did an very acceptable job on normal soiled laundry. I would be suspicious of any natural detergent of any kind with a scent that last more than a day.

I do not like strong smells and have used natural liquid detergents for at least 20 years now and I didn't like how regular detergents left residue on clothes, scents that lingered for days and days, or the added brighteners. I am used to how natural detergents work and this product is on par with the many I have used.

1. I have a regular washer; put the sheet either in the bottom and let the water run over it or put it on top of the clothes after filling were the water pours in to ensure it doesn't get stuck between clothing that might twist around it (kind of like how rolled up socks don't get clean).

2. Separate clothes into heavy fabrics vs light fabrics. Light fabrics move more freely around the drum. Heaver fabrics (like denim, towels, heavy cotton sweatshirts) need a bit more freedom to move without the burden of other fabrics.

3. For clothes with a bit more soiling and you know the colors won't run, let them pre-soak before washing.

4. For heavy soils or things like towels, boost the power of these sheets or other natural detergents with a little super washing soda.

5. To brighten whites (with or without bleach) get some BLUING. One tiny bottle lasts forever -- you probably could pass it on to your grandchildren. Just a tiny bit of the blue dye (so faint you might not even be able to see it in the wash) will neutralize the gray and yellow tint that makes whites look really dingy. **This is the main reason why a lot of commercial laundry detergents are blue**. It's the next best thing to sun bleaching.
